Heather Beveridge (Aberdeen Scotland)
Visual artist, designer, radio maker, and theater coach.
A graduate of Gray’s School of Art in 2015, Heather began her career as a multidisciplinary designer in boutique Scottish design agencies. Seeking a new and challenging creative environment, she later relocated to the Netherlands, where she worked as a brand experience designer in a consultancy.
After spending 4 years in the field, and experiencing the profound impact a lack of creativity has on health and wellbeing first-hand, Heather shifted her focus.
Rediscovering the transformative power of creativity, Heather found solace in a childlike state of “play” with art, contributing to her physical and mental health recovery. Eager to share these benefits, she embarked on various ventures, including founding an acting club in the Netherlands, facilitating acting courses, and hosting a weekly show titled “Music to Make Art to” on Radio Worm, a local online community radio station.
Dedicated to researching and promoting the healing properties of the creative process, in 2023, Heather participated in IBB’s “All You Can Art” summer school at the Kunsthal, Rotterdam. The program’s social impact approach resonated with her mission, leading her to co-found the local art studio 9Lives with fellow AYCA students. The studio serves as an inclusive and safe space for individuals to explore their creativity and embrace life as an artist. With future plans to evolve into a non-profit organization, it aims to foster connections among diverse social sectors, promoting the shared pursuit of creative freedom.
Presently, Heather is undertaking a 5-week residency with IBB. During this time, she aims to establish IBB’s own radio station and delve into the island’s rich art and music culture through her visual art.
