The ArteSwa foundation was established in early 2004 as an independent organization by David Bade, Herman Bade and Jennifer Smit. With the opening of IBB in September 2006 and due to the involvement of essentially the same individuals the founders decided to make ArteSwa (on Curacao) a part of Instituto Buena Bista. The goals of these community oriented initiatives are still the same as before: ArteSwa involves laymen with the unruly process of making art and lets us see how one goes from imagination to object.
