On Thursday, June 20, 2024, Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) will present an interactive Artist Talk by the current Artist in Residence, Rah Naqvi, followed by a certificate presentation. The Artist Talk and certificate presentation will take place at Kueba 60, formerly Casa Moderna, at Madurostraat 60 in Punda, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own (possibly homemade) instruments for an interactive jam session.

Rah Naqvi is an Indian artist based in Amsterdam whose work focuses on religious and social polarization. Naqvi uses playful props, satire, and gentleness to engage the viewer. Their art and singing practice emphasize queer resistance, the polyphonic nature of love and revolution, and warn against a monotonous, choice-less future. Naqvi studied Liberal Arts at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and earned a Bachelor of Textiles at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Their work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Bangkok Art Biennale and Kunsthall Trondheim.
