Instituto Buena Bista, in cooperation with Landhuis Bloemhof, is delighted to announce an artist talk by their current artist in residence Anan Striker. Striker is in residence at IBB for a period of four months in the program sponsored by the Mondriaan Fund.
During this talk Striker will talk about his multifaceted artist practice and what he has been doing in the time he has already spent here on Curacao.

Fascinated by daily life, Anan draws inspiration from the everyday: sports, music, language, love, and art. He doesn’t limit himself to a single subject but combines them freely: a life event, an unexpected encounter, a ‘tidbit’ that comes his way, a sporting victory, or a found object that Anan appropriates. He intuitively translates them into drawings, prints, sculptures, installations, and paintings. Often with a longing for nostalgia and accompanied by his affection for cassette tapes. With an eye for detail while never losing sight of the grand gesture. This is how Anan creates poetic, alienating adjustments to reality. At Landhuis Bloemhof, he will give a presentation about his experiences and adventures at Instituto Buena Bista and Dushi Kòrsou so far.
