Join us on Thursday November 10 at 19:00 for a dive into the work and practice of visual artist Tim Breukers.
Breukers (Breda, ’85) is currently doing an Artist In Residence at Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) made possible by the Mondriaan Fund. Between September and the end of December he will experience the island and therefrom create new work. During this period he will also be closely working with the students at IBB so they can, through a hands-on fashion, learn about his work process.
Tim Breukers (https://timbreukers.nl) was resident at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam, European Ceramic Work Centre (EKWC), MMCA Seoul, CARF Kolkata and Bus Projects Melbourne.
Through sculpture, installation and collage he tries to make new meaningful connections between material, culture and myself. Important roles are played by: humor, scale, story and sculptural techniques versus DIY solutions. He is convinced that art helps to balance our lives. That our lives help art to become human and truthful.
At IBB he wants to bring his role as advisor or workshop leader closer to his sculptural practice.
The talk with start at 19:00 on November 10 2022.
Location: Gallery Alma Blou, Landhuis Habaai, Fr. Radulphusweg 4
