In the National Archives there is a lot to find about Curaçao. These documents were largely formed when the island was still in the hands of the West India Company (WIC) or when it was a Dutch colony. These archival documents, photographs and maps mainly show the perspective and the lifestyle of the colonial rulers. The exhibition Kòrsou – Curaçao. Voices from then, people from now combines these archival documents with different visions of the island. – National Archive press release
Instituto Buena Bista is participating both directly as indirectly in this exhibition of the dutch National Archives. An active student (Imani Specht) and an alumnus (Travis Geertruida) have worked together over the past two months to create a work covering their views on resilience and braiding.
Indirectly IBB is also represented by various alumni who also form part of the exhibition.
