These are part of an on going series of portraits I am working on. Inspired by my grandmothers collection of portraits of my great grandparents and older relatives. I wanted to create my own collection where I try to capture my family members in clay.

I am interested in the role that narratives play in the expression of culture and identity. I take inspiration from my history and heritage to create my own rituals, artifacts and mythos. Often tackle subjects such as cultural identity, afro-diaspora, intersectionality, and personal and collective memory.
