I have recently had a fascination with these plastic garden chairs that seems to be present in everyone’s life in many situations. Especially for people from Curacao. For me personally it is a chair that my grandmother would sit on all day and nap and watch novelas (soap operas). But they’re also present during family reunions and so on. So I use it as foundation for my paintings along with other associations.

Rinella Alfonso, born in Curaçao. After graduating from IBB in 2015, I went to The Netherlands at the KABK in the hague to study fine arts (painting department). And currently i am doing a residency at De Ateliers in Amsterdam.
