On June 1, 2019 IBB and Kunsthal Rotterdam launched the fourth edition of All You Can Art (AYCA). This edition marks a new development in the project as it works towards its future aims.
This year marks the first year that AYCA is also in two locations outside of the Kunsthal museum. One location is ‘Het Gemaal‘ and the other is a set of shops on the Groene Hilledijk shopping street. Both of these locations are in the south part of Rotterdam. This area is known to have a higher percentage of residents with a migration background. This segment of the population is a primary target for inclusion in the AYCA project as it is often underserved including in access to cultural expressions and activities. One prominent reason for this is the monetary barrier to entry often involved with these events. AYCA aims to lower the barrier to participation as low as possible to be able to connect with as many people as possible. As such, access to these two locations in the south is free to the public.
Just as in previous years AYCA aims to involve the visiting public in the project and works being developed by the participating artists. This year we also have participating social partners including Laurens (elderly care), Antes (psychiatric and drug abuse care) and a number of secondary schools in the area
AYCA is running until August 25, while the supporting exhibition (and active atelier) in Kunsthal Rotterdam will be open till september 29.
