Our current resident in the AIR program, Steven Jouwersma, wanted to participate in the yearly carnival parade here on Curacao as part of his residency project. His plan was to have a big head on a cart that he would, during the march, cover with pieces of a local cacti species. Together with him he took some students and alumni of IBB to help and also participate in the parade. Their project got cut short though when they were expelled halfway during the day version of the parade. IBB alumna Crystal Boomgaart, through her own journalistic project The Otrobanda Reporter, decided to interview them about this event.
