On November 21 2014 Instituto Buena Bista, (IBB) Curaçao, and Le Campus Caraïbéen des Arts, (CCA) Martinique, signed a PROTOCOL OF COOPERATION AGREEMENT TO GOVERN THE EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS and a MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING. The signing of these agreements for collaboration, which took place in Fort-de-France Martinique, is of great importance to the developing and deepening of art education in the Caribbean region.
The connection came about upon the invitation of CCA, inviting artists in the Caribbean region to give workshops during the celebration of their 30th anniversary. Curacao born artist Tirzo Martha (1965), co-founder of Instituto Buena Bista and already well-known by the academy, was invited to give a workshop to the students of the CCA. Both the IBB and the CCA are aware of how important collaboration and exchange are for art education in the Caribbean region. The necessity and urge to create the references and the materials to provide good education are the driving forces behind this collaboration. This collaboration between the two art institutes has as its goal to create not only great artists and visionaries but also a Caribbean community with much more awareness and appreciation for their visual arts.
Student Sigiene Justina (Willemstad, 1989) is the first student from IBB to start his professional education in the region at the Campus Caraïbéen des Arts Martinique during the upcoming academic year of 2015-2016. IBB is very excited that Stichting Studiefinanciering Curaçao (SSC) is doing their part in making it possible for their first student to study in the region, so more can follow in the future.
Not only does Instituto Buena Bista extend to the region but also locally, most currently by opening her doors during the Open Atelier Route on March 7th and 8th 2015 at the Capriles terrain from 10am to 6pm. All is welcome.
