From May to August 2013 artist Machteld Solinger resides at the Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) and as a conclusion of her stay an exhibition of her work will open monday night september 2nd.

Artist in Residence Machteld Solinger

Solinger (1986, Netherlands) is a visual artist that studied at the AKV/St Joost academy in Breda. In context of her residency she gave a workshop ‘abstract painting’ to our students and in cooperation with Gallery Alma Blou she also gave a lecture last june.

During her stay at the IBB Solinger has kept a blog about her work-process, her residency in the guest atelier of the IBB and also all sorts of objects and places she has found on Curacao that caught her attention. Her blog can be viewed at: www.machteldsolinger.wordpress.com

Start new students

The IBB would also immediately like to take advantage of the opportunity to introduce our new students to the public on the evening of the mentioned exhibition. We have in total more than 10 new faces for school-year 2013 – 2014, that together with the second-year students form a total of almost 30 students.
