The Instituto Buena Bista, in collaboration with Landhuis Bloemhof, is proud to announce that Barbadian/British artist Nick Whittle will be providing a lecture on his work and experience on thursday November 21 2013.
Nick Whittle(1953, England) is an English born and Barbadian based artist. He graduated at the University of Newcastle with his BA in Fine Arts. His work can be considered that of a diarist: regardless of scale or medium his practice explores encounters with the world and feelings of alienation and connectedness through a stream of consciousness.
Whittle’s work has been shown both internationally and regionally in a variety of solo and group exhibitions. Highlights include Galerie JM’Arts, Paris and ACP House, Brussels, Cable Factory Helsinki,
Finland; various CARIFESTA Festivals; and the Rundetaarn, Denmark and his last solo show at Zemicon and Queen’s Park Gallery in Barbados. He has also received several awards, including from National Independence Festival of the Creative Arts (NIFCA)
Nick hopes to provide guests with an elaborate insight in his work, both past and present, and give insight to how he goes to work and also share his views on his residency at the IBB. For more information on the Nick Whittle please visit his blog: http://nickwhittle.tumblr.com/
