Marvi is a Colombian born/Curacao raised artist that is now back home from studying at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. She is currently participating in her first local residency here at the IBB.
Being a former IBB student makes it extra exciting for her to be able to give a workshop to IBB’s current students. Marvi expresses her interest in the residency as a challenge to play a different role than that of a student, but that the possibility to reside at the IBB, at the same time, is also a great comfort because the IBB feels
like home.
She hopes to provide the students with a better understanding of color. She aims to broaden their perspectives on color theory, contrasts as well as aspects like the
different applications of color and its ability to transform into movement.
