Machteld Solinger (1986, Goedereede) graduated in 2008 from the AKV/St Joost in Breda. She’s been living and working in Rotterdam ever since. Her primary focus is painting, but she’s currently researching possibilities in making three-dimensional works from her ideas and paintings.
“I love the duality in shape, material and functionality. I look for contrasts in objects and systems in my environment. By paying close attention and analysing what i see i make connections and see patterns that i want to recreate in my paintings. The origin of a material or the combination of various objects moves me to compare, interpret and associate.”
