My work is an ongoing investigation into constitution of spaces. I construct site-specific spatial/architectural installations. My starting points are routines, presumptions and taken-for-granted aspects of a specific location and situation. I work with the spatial and architectural elements at a given location (such as windows, doors, staircases, columns …), with the expectations connected to the (functional) use of that particular space and to the specific context. While working, I unravel further layers of the space.
By spatial interventions such as (mis)placing, blocking, separating, isolating or framing I create a new situation based on the space as it was. I realize this through the means of building architectural sculptures. I work mainly with building materials such as wood beams, panels, plasterboard; recently BeeBoard cardboard, textile and fog.
