Liesbeth Labeur (1975) lives and works in Zeeland (the Netherlands). The first ten years of her life she lived with her family on the island of Curacao.
She studied at the AKV St. Joost in Breda where she graduated in 2006 at the Fine Art department. Labeur started the various projects after her study. Projects like; Calvijn! glossy (2009) and De brede weg als ballenbak (Vleeshal, 2008). She recently published her graphic novel “Op weg naar Zoar”. Het Stripschap proclaimed the comic as the album of the year 2011 in the category literature.
Labeur is very excited about the making of a second book. For her book she’ll be doing research during her residency. At the end of her residency she’ll be showing drawings and other results of her research.

Former IBB AIR Liesbeth Labeur came by this week for a 4-day long workshops with the students. She, assisted by Jiri Buunk, gave the students a course in making woodcut prints. The pressing was done using a pavement roller.
