This Friday, December 1st 2017, Instituto Buena Bista (IBB) will be presenting a part of our exhibition ‘which framework do you use?’. This exhibition was the result of a workshop with artist in residence PJ Bruyniks. During this workshop students were asked to think about the frameworks they use to look at life and use these ideas to make ‘machines that attribute value’.

Self-reflection and awareness of the context that one uses to make decisions of all kinds came to order. Taste, prejudice, morals, ethics, fashion, trends, ideas and visions are very much connected to the framework one uses. Relativizing these frameworks is very important. The students will be presenting their works by means of performances or interaction with the public.

The presentation of these works will be on Friday, December 1st at 10:00 in the Marshe Nobo, Punda.

During this presentation there will also be a talk given by Icelandic artist Arnar Ásgeirsson. Arnar is currently doing a residency at Ateliers ’89 in Aruba and is vitising Curacao for a couple of days to give a short workshop to IBB students and give a talk about his works. For more information about Arnar Ásgeirsson, please check his website at: http://www.arnarasgeirsson.com/

Interesting side-note about Iceland: the country is 103.000km2 big (Curacao is 444km2) yet only has slightly more than twice the amount of inhabitants than Curacao.

We hope to see you there on Friday to see the performances by the IBB students and the talk by Arnar.
