Artist Ailsa Anastatia has filled multiple roles at IBB over the years. She has been a local artist in residence, given workshops to the students and is currently on the board of IBB.

Ailsa Anastatia, is a contemporary artist from the Caribbean whose art captures the essence of the region’s diverse creativity. She draws inspiration from her surroundings to explore themes like identity, memory, and cultural heritage. Anastatia uses various artistic forms, such as painting, sculpture, and installation, to challenge conventions in Caribbean art. Recently, she’s been focusing on the region’s social and environmental issues. Her work blends different influences, adding depth to the evolving Caribbean art scene, encouraging cultural exchange and critical discussions.
