Working mainly with drawings and installations, Marieke Zwart is focusing in her work on the domestic environment and the relationship between private and public.
Recently she has been exploring video and sound as a medium to document relational contexts while working on portraits and other socially influenced works.
The documentation of social projects is becoming more important in her work; it’s a way to position herself as an artist in the world and to set a space around her drawing and installation based practise.

Marieke Zwart (1987) is an artist based in Amsterdam. She graduated at the Rietveld Academy in 2009 and is now doing a Master studies ‘Artistic Research’ in the Hague.
